BackgroundUnlike other clans with a rigid hierarchical structure and leader ego
to spare, 3305 Local will be strictly democratic, led by volunteers who
are more facilitators than directors.
Instead of dictating clan
policy, the officers of 3305 Local will work to ensure every point of
view and opinion of its members is heard and acted upon by organization
leadership.
By holding frequent votes among all members who wish
to participate in them, 3305 Local will provide the opportunity to make
a direct contribution to the operation of the clan to every 3305 Local
member.
We'll accomplish this in ways that will free all of
us—the newest members up to the most senior officers—from needless
work, complication and lost hours spent managing the organization.
By
creatively utilizing the tools we have at our disposal, we'll be able
to ensure our clan is something we're all happy with, proud of, and
something that serves us all—not the other way around.
Out-Of-Character
Mission Statement3305 Local is looking for mature, friendly people eager to work with
others to take full advantage of the opportunities Anarchy Online
presents to really kick ass and have fun.
"Fun" means something
a little different to everyone, but we're confident that by
collaborating together we can create an organization that has room for
our differing goals and desires.
"Respect" the fact that your fellow members are from different countries and will have value that may differ from your own.
All
members will be able to influence the direction 3305 Local takes in how
it and its members relate to each other, other clans and player
associations.
We're hoping to attract members who are at least
somewhat interested in roleplaying elements, enjoyable conflicts (i.e.
victories) against Omni-Tek and Imperial forces . in general, a fun and
well-rounded gaming career.
Chiefly, we're looking for people who want to belong to a strong clan where they have a real chance to make a difference.
One thing we're hoping not to attract: Egotistical, inconsiderate, selfish, and/or immature players.
If
you can't be polite (at least out-of-character), if you think it's
acceptable to incessantly beg for cash, equipment, unreasonable
assistance, information or attention, if you want to steal the
spotlight from everyone else and use your clan as a catapult to fame,
3305 Local is not the organization for you.
RoleplayingA note about roleplay (RP), because it makes some people a little uneasy. We see RP as a facet of the game—not the whole thing.
We
don't think anyone should feel like they have to play a certain way,
and certainly not to the detriment of other aspects of the game—just
when and where it adds to the enjoyment of the game for yourself and
others.
After all, a large aspect of any MMRPG is Player vs.
Player combat, and if we roleplay all the time, we'll wade into combat
against power-leveled OT PK d00dz many times stronger (who will then
proceed to beat our finely-crafted RP asses).
If you want to
power-level and discuss game mechanics, even the most avid roleplayer
among us will probably join you a lot of the time. They might preface
their OOC (Out Of Character) comments, they might make references to
in-character experiences while running missions or hunting, but as a
clan organization, we rely on each other for safety, information, and
entertainment.
That said, we encourage roleplay by our members as a way to add a lot of depth and enjoyment to the game.
We really do want to foster an inclusive and democratic guild where most players can feel at home.
So
many people that we've "met" in-game have expressed in-game bordeom,
loneliness, conflicts or deep-seated misgivings with their current
clan, or stories of struggling with small clans with fewer than a dozen
members. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all band together to create
the clan we want?
